CT&T Considers AL, GA, NC, SC, & CA for Electric Vehicle Factory

Korean company eyes Alabama for electric vehicle factory A South Korean company is considering Alabama and four other states for electric vehicle manufacturing plants that the company estimates will create 2,600 jobs over the next five years. CT&T Company Ltd. plans to decide by September among sites in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and California, according to Curt Westlake, a spokesman for the company's U.S. branch. Westlake added that the sites will see full assembly of electric cars within 12 months. "While we are reviewing a number of locations for our operations, we are committed to having a major presence in the southeastern and West Coast regions," Young Gi Lee, CT&T's president and chief executive officer, said in a news release. The company said it plans to build a North American headquarters, a research and development center and several manufacturing facilities, which could be spread among multiple states or consolidated on one site.
