NC: Custom Alloy Corp. to Establish Operation in Badin, Creating 40 Jobs

Dec 10, 2021
New Jersey-based Custom Alloy Corporation plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Badin, NC, adding 40 jobs and $8.1 million in machinery and equipment within the next five (5) years.

Custom Alloy Corporation is a leading manufacturer of seamless and welded pipe fittings and forgings, predominantly for customers requiring time-critical maintenance or repair. Custom Alloy Corporation is a family-owned company that manufacturers pipe fittings and forgings for many specialized markets, including power generation, petrochemical, refining, gas transmission, subsea, aerospace, mining, nuclear marine, and defense and military. Some of the company’s forgings can reach up to 100,000 pounds in size. CAC also manufactures critical components for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. The company’s new facility in Stanly County will become home for CAC’s existing Navy Fitting Product Line and new Specialty Pipe Product Line and will enable the company to provide the military with faster deliveries and increased capacity, which will lead to less turbulence in the supply chain for these important components.

“Custom Alloy is a USA Forging/Fitting manufacturer for critical path components for our Military. We are working with the Navy to rebuild our manufacturing capacity here in the USA and this facility will directly impact Submarine and Aircraft Carrier Production. It was a pleasure working with local and state officials along with Duke Energy and Alcoa who made us feel welcome to the community. We look forward to working with the Advanced Manufacturing Institutes and local community colleges to build our workforce in the military and defense environment,” said Adam M. Ambielli, President of Custom Alloy.

“We are excited to welcome Custom Alloy to Badin Business Park. We redeveloped this site to bring good-paying jobs to Stanly County, and this announcement demonstrates that investment is paying off. We will continue working closely with local and state officials to attract new jobs to Badin,” said Rob Bear, Alcoa Vice President of Transformation.

The Stanly County Economic Development Commission and Stanly County Board of Commissioners extend their gratitude to the Town of Badin, Economic Development Partnership for North Carolina, Rural Infrastructure Authority, Governor Roy Cooper, the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Department of Commerce, North Carolina Community College System, Stanly Community College, Alcoa, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Duke Energy, and Piedmont Natural Gas for their support.
