Roy Cooper, Governor of North Carolina, has spent three decades in public service. Prior to assuming the governorship, Cooper was North Carolina’s attorney general from 2001 to 2017. He also served terms in the North Carolina State Senate and House. As governor, Cooper stresses investing in public schools, creating good jobs, and raising incomes for the middle class. As a legislator, he worked with members of both parties to get balanced budgets that raised teacher pay, grew the economy, and cut taxes for middle-class families.
